Texas brings in $1.65 billion in April sales tax revenue

Dallas received $20.2 million for its allotment down 8.7 percent from the same period a year ago and Fort Worth received $9.9 million down 2.4 percent. Houstons allotment went up 1.2 percent when compared to the same period a year ago and received $45.7. Among other area cities Plano received $5.5 million down 9.1 percent; Frisco received $3.4 million down 7.7 percent; and Arlington received $7.7 million down 4.2 percent. Irving received $4.7 million a slight increase of about 0.3 percent and Flower Mound received $982611 which represents a 40-percent increase over last year. The 149 special purpose taxing districts around the state received $21.4 million in sales tax up 15.2 percent compared with May 2008. Ten local transit systems received $120.8 million in April sales tax payments down 3.8 percent compared with a year ago. Comptroller Combs next sales tax allocation will be made on June 12.
