Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar Supports Small Business Sales Tax Holiday

glenn.hegarTexas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will speak tomorrow in support of small businesses that will benefit from legislation providing a sales tax holiday for consumers who shop at small businesses the Saturday after Thanksgiving. HB 2694 would provide a one-day only sales tax exemption for businesses that have $5 million or less in taxable gross receipts during the previous fiscal year. To enjoy this tax-free perk consumers need only make a purchase during Small Business Saturday" the first Saturday after Thanksgiving Day at a small business on any product capped at $5000. The press conference will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Texas Capitol in the Speakers Committee Room 2W.6. Hegar will be joined by State Reps. Angie Chen Button and Dwayne Bohac and Annie Spilman Texas Legislative Director of the National Federation of Independent Business.
