Texas Hospital Association PAC Endorses Jim Murphy for House District 133

width=72Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  (April 23 2012) The Texas Hospital Associations state political action committee HOSPAC has endorsed Jim Murphy a Republican from Houston for Texas House District 133. One of the largest hospital associations in the country THA represents more than 85 percent of the states hospitals and health care systems which employ some 369000 health care professionals statewide.  Texas hospitals face numerous challenges in delivering care to our diverse fast-growing population" said John Hawkins senior vice president of Advocacy and Public Policy for THA. HOSPAC has endorsed candidates who recognize the importance of health care to all Texans and value the role that hospitals play in caring for our communities as well as their significant contributions to the states economy." Hospitals are major employers in the state and workforce needs continue to grow as demand for services increases especially among the elderly" said Hawkins. Sound health care policies will be more important than ever and Jim Murphy has indicated a willingness to work with Texas hospitals to address health care issues." The 33-member HOSPAC board makes endorsements based on a candidates position on health care issues and input from local hospital representatives.
