Budget Be Necessary Transparent and Used Efficiently

As the State Budget is brought to the House Floor Friday afternoon for debate House Republicans are working together to make certain that the final product promotes a more efficient and effective Texas Government.
House Republicans are responsible for a spending decrease of 2.5 in General Revenue in the proposed State Budget. In these challenging economic times government has a duty to tighten its belt just as Texas families have.
Unique to this legislative session there is a one-time allocation of federal stimulus dollars. The stimulus fund is a sacred trust that allows for one-time expenditures and capital improvements
Rep. Myra Crownover Chair of Appropriations Subcommittee on the Stimulus said. By not allowing a permanent expansion of our State government Texas children and grandchildren are protected from having to pay for future expanded services.

House Republicans are working diligently to ensure that Texas once again achieves a balanced state budget. Other objectives are clear: increase job creation appropriately fund our schools and constrain government spending to keep Texans taxes low.
Republican members have a duty to exercise fiscal restraint while maintaining adequate funding for necessary State programs
