TexasInsider Report - AUSTIN Texas -- Texas healthy economy and robust job creation climate have combined to help the Lone Star State earn the Top Business Climate in the nation ranking by Site Selection Magazine.
This top ranking further affirms our efforts to generate an environment where new jobs can be created and maintained Gov. Perry said. Employers seek out the best possible state to invest their capital and Texas has a world-class workforce predictable regulatory system that protects without stifling innovation fair courts and a tax structure that allows people to keep more of what they earn.
To determine the Top Business Climate Site Selection Magazine ranked states based on data such as competiveness and tax climate and a survey which asked corporate executives with site selection responsibilities to name the states they considered most business friendly. Texas received the highest marks in both components of the study with executives citing Texas tax climate pro-business climate available workforce and economic development incentives as reason to relocate or expand a business in the Lone Star State.
Development Counsellors International and Area Development Magazine have also ranked the Lone Star State as the best business climate. Additional national accolades include Site Selection Magazines 2010 Governors Cup for the most new and expanded corporate facilities announced over the year. According to USA Today Texas has moved past New York as the nations second largest economy and the Wall Street Journal has credited the states low taxes and employer-friendly environment with helping make Texas the job creation capital of the nation. Additionally Texas is ranked as the top exporting state in the nation for the ninth year in a row and Texas consistently ranks among the top states for Fortune 500 headquarters.
