AUSTIN Texas (Texas Insider Report) On Friday Dec. 19 2014 at 11:00 a.m. the Texas Army National Guard bid
goodbye and good luck to more than 450 members of the 1st Squadron 112th Cavalry Regiment as they mobilize
to the Sinai Peninsula. The deployment ceremony was held at Bastrop Memorial Stadium in Bastrop Texas near Austin.
The Bryan based regiment is aligned under the 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team 36th Infantry Division headquartered in Austin Texas.

It is a critical mission to assist and maintain the 32-year long peace agreement between Egypt and Israel.
While deployed the unit named Task Force Stallion will serve as Multinational Force Observers (MFO) whose mission will be to enforce the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty signed in 1979. The Multinational Force and Observers is an independent international organization created from the Camp David Accords.
The members of the Texas National Guard will undergo additional training at Fort Hood before deploying overseas early next year.
The mission of
the Texas Military Forces (TXMF) is to provide the Governor and the President with ready and trained forces in support of the citizens of Texas and State and Federal civil/military authorities at home and abroad.
The Texas Military Forces are commanded by the Adjutant General of Texas the states senior military official appointed by the governor and is composed of the:
- Texas Military Department (formerly the Adjutant Generals Department)
- Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG)
- Texas Air National Guard (TXANG)
- Texas State Guard (TXSG) and the
- Domestic Operations Command (DOMOPS)
