The city of Austin received a sales tax revenue check of $16.1 million this month. This is up 1.88 percent from a year ago.
The City of San Antonio received a sales tax revenue check of $23.2 million this month. This is up 1.86 percent from February 2007. Bexar County does not collect a sales tax. But VIA Metropolitan Transit and the San Antonio Advanced Transportation District received checks for $10.6 million and $5 million respectively. This represents increases of 3.15 percent and 5.94 percent.
The comptroller distributed a total of $640.8 million in local sales taxes to Texas cities counties transit systems and special purpose taxing districts in February. This is up 5.1 percent from the local sales tax distribution in February 2007.
