Countrys largest Latino Legislative Caucus explainssases potential implications width=71Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON DC At the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia this week the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC) and fellow intervenors along with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) will urge a panel of judges to reject pre-clearance for the Texas voter/photo ID law and uphold the principles of the Voting Rights Act in Texas v. Holder Last year the Texas Republican-led state legislature passed one of the most restrictive voter qualifications laws in the country a law with the potential to disenfranchise 100s of 1000s of the poor the elderly and the transient from their legal right to vote in 2012 and beyond. On a press call today at 2:30 PM Eastern immediately following his testimony in the case MALC Chairman Trey Martinez Fischer gave an overview of the first and second days of hearings and discussed the broader policy and political implications of the case.  Throughout the course of this week Rep.
