Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas TEXPAC the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) has announced its endorsement of Libby Willis for Texas Senate District 10.
Libby Willis has earned grassroots support from physicians in her senate district which is key to any TEXPAC endorsement" said TEXPAC District Chair Robert J. Rogers MD a Fort Worth allergist. We are confident Libby will work to protect the vitally important patient-physician relationship in Texas keeping the government big insurance and other parties out of physicians exam rooms.
Libby also understands our medical students must be able to finish their residency training in Texas so they will put down roots to care for Texas patients" said Dr. Rogers. We know she will fight to increase graduate medical education funding to ensure our young doctors can stay here."
For these reasons and her clear knowledge of the issues affecting Texas patients and their physicians Fort Worth-area doctors and TEXPAC put our support behind Libby Willis for Texas Senate."
TEXPAC speaks on behalf of more than 47000 Texas physicians and medical students and nearly 5000 alliance members. Organized in 1962 TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. TEXPAC also is one of the largest bipartisan PACs in the state and ranks first in size among other state medical association PACs.
