The Teachers Associations & Democrats are Killing These Two Bills ... Texas Budget Negotiations Continue

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  Governor Perry Lt. Governor Dewhurst & Speaker Straus as well as the various Republican & Democratic width=366Caucuses have held strategy meetings inside hallways crowded with lobbyists & other well-wishers who apparently believe more is at stake in the negotiations than simply cutting too deeply. In the Senate we believe theres a level of funding that the teachers & classrooms need.  We want the school districts to cut from the administrative side. But we want to be sure we can fund the classrooms & teachers and still we have to live within our means State Senator & Finance Committee member Dan Patrick told Insiders Jim Cardle.

The difference between the two budgets is that the Senate spends about $3 billion more for classrooms & teachers than the House and that appears to be the point at which the House & Senate cannot agree said Patrick.

Senate & House leaders as well as their respective budget writing committee conferees say they are very close to solving Texas budget dilemma.
