Tincy Miller Most Deserving of Crucial SBOE Dist. 12 Post

We recommend Tincy" Miller as best for this important job width=118Texas Insider Report: DALLAS Texas Tincy Miller Dallas Republican knows the duties & challenges as well as any Texan. She previously served on the (SBOE) board for 26 years including time as its chair. Shes committed to keeping legislators from abusing the fund that the state uses to finance schools the Permanent School Fund which thanks to Miller is known to many Texans as the Childrens Textbook Fund.   Such were the musings of the Dallas Morning News Editorial Board last week in endorsing Miller over her opponent who they noted had long served on the Dallas School Board where she too often displayed a divisive intemperate style. For Voters in this district which covers Collin County and northern and eastern Dallas County ... we recommend Geraldine Tincy" Miller 77 as best for this job over Democrat Lois Parrott said the September 18 2012 Morning News Editorial Board endorsement. Miller also has garnered support from a long list of leading Dallas & North Dallas Metroplex width=95Republicans leaders such as:
  • Rep. Ken Paxton (right) of Plano who is expected to win an open state Senate seat this fall
  • Cathie Adams Eagle Forum of Texas leader  (right) & the former width=71Texas Republican Party Chairwoman
  • Roger Staubach Dallas businessman & Cowboys legend and
  • Sen. John Carona of Dallas (see others below)
And she rightly wants immigrant students to have the option of taking immersion classes instead of prolonged bilingual education. Immersion could help them quickly master English and better meet the states standards said the endorsement. Interestingly the Morning News saw Millers leadership in balancing the SBOEs hard-right and moderate members while creating solutions for Texas school children as a problem. She would serve Texas better by steadily siding with the centrist wing which has fought efforts to weaken science and history standards the editorial noted. Said the Editorial Board of Millers opponent width=287Parrott long served on the Dallas school boardwhere she too often displayed a divisive intemperate style. This state board has had too much division and needs leaders who work toward solutions. Plus we disagree with the Richland College professors views on key education issues including her skepticism of charter schools. Serving from 1984-2010 with four of the years (2003-2007) as Chairman having been appointed by Gov. Rick Perry and confirmed by the Texas Senate she will be an effective conservative leader on the State Board of Education. We most certainly agree; Tincy Miller of a Dallas is deserving of the SBOE District 12 post. Others listed here do as well:
