Currently there are many South Texas families that are struggling financially either because they are unemployed or underemployed. Add the rising cost of fuel groceries and insurance and many families are hurting and any relief they can receive will be a great help to them.
The sales tax holiday period gives shoppers across Texas and especially in South Texas a great opportunity to prepare their children for school and save extra money for their already very tight budgets.

This year shoppers will save an estimated $64.8 million in state and local sales taxes during the Sales Tax Holiday. The tax holiday weekend has been an annual event since 1999.
