Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas -- Now that the second filing period has concluded primary season is officially in high gear. With this milestone passed the Travis County Republican Party has invited all candidates appearing on the 2012 primary ballot to a press conference at
noon Thursday March 15 at County Party Headquarters (7901 Cameron Road Ste. 202 Building 3 -- northeast corner of 183 and Cameron Road).
While the focus will be on county-level candidates the party has confirmed several candidates for U.S. Congressional and Texas Legislative races will be in attendance.
Anyone appearing on a Republican ballot in Travis County this spring is welcome to come and speak said Andy Hogue TCRP Communications Director. Were looking forward to this opportunity to brag on our candidates a little and to introduce the press to these fine men and women.
Each candidate will be allowed to speak for 1-2 minutes and there will be ample time for interviews and photos before and after. TCRP will provide hors d overeurs.
There arent any placeholder candidates in this bunch Hogue said. Each of our local candidates are highly qualified for the race theyre seeking and we look forward to having a very exciting slate to present to voters in the November General Election.
