Trouble for Eddie Bernice Johnson but Hope for Us All

width=71By Donna Garner Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  U. S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson is a Democrat who represents the 30th Congressional District of Texas. This district is one of the poorest suburbs of Dallas and her constituents are not happy with her. Todays Dallas Morning News link is below ... It tells about Davetta Carter a top graduate at A. Maceo Smith High School in Eddie Bernice Johnsons Congressional district.    Carter who had to drop out of college because she did not have enough money.  Carter was a volunteer at Dallas VA Medical Center; and  in 2007 Republican activist Ray Huebner had tried to help Davetta get some scholarship money.  He wrote to U. S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnsons office asking for sources of financial aid. Johnson wrote back advising that Carter should explore resources with her school counselor. The letter makes no mention of the Congressional Black Caucus /Foundation scholarship program or any other." The good news is that the voters of District 30 have an alternative to Eddie Bernice Johnson. Stephen Broden is an up-and-coming Afro-American conservative well-spoken Republican candidate.   Broden has called for a House ethics investigation and the release of records associated with the nepotism scholarships that Johnson gave her own family members and to her staff members children -- all living outside Johnsons Congressional district.  Broden is accusing Johnson of failing to publicize the scholarships to make it easier to award funds to relatives." Here is information on Stephen Broden taken from his website:

I have been the pastor of an inner-city church in the district for 22 years and have lived in the district for more than 30 years.  I have deep roots in my community.

Ive been a grass roots fiscal and social conservative for over 30 years.  Like many of you I have served as a Republican Party Precinct Chairman.  More recently it has been my privilege to speak at numerous regional and state-wide Tea-Party and /9/12 events.  I have been there and I have heard the voice of We the People.

This fall we have a clear choice between returning to our founding principles of limited government and personal responsibility or empowering change that will destroy our prosperity and freedom.

I choose the founding principles.

Because of the increased public scrutiny of Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson caused by the nepotism allegations the Internet is buzzing with the added information that Eddie Bernice Johnson is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America as are many other Democrat Congressmen. Hopefully Congressional District 30 will realize that Nov. 2 2010 is their chance to dump Johnson and elect a principled conservative with deep roots in the community. I can hardly wait to hear Pastor Stephen Brodens wise voice resound in the halls of /Congress. He will be a huge blessing to all Americans. =============================================== Eddie Bernice Johnson says chief of staff reviewed scholarship applications Dallas Democrat also says shes not blaming anybody but myself By TODD J.
