Tuesday We Vote On Wednesday We Reunite

fred-mosesBy Fred Moses Collin County Republican Chairman I am sure you can tell by your over-stuffed mailbox your full voice mail & the volume of literature left on your door that Tuesday is Election Day in Texas. I urge you to vote and let your voice be heard Tuesday if you didnt vote early. Your vote is important not only to the candidate you vote for but to the county party as voting strength for the state convention is determined by the number of votes cast in the gubernatorial primary.   As a Republican I strongly believe that the best form of government is that which is closest to the people. In this case that means you the voter. We Republicans are a grassroots party and that process starts anew at the local level with this election. Tuesday night please go back to the polling place for your precinct after the polls close and attend your Precinct Convention and help shape our Republican national platform make your voice heard. Your precinct Convention will be held at your election day polling location and they are listed on our local Collin County Republican website. ronaldI am proud to say that the majority of our elected officials and candidates signed the Ronald Reagan 11th Commandment pledge. I applaud those who have honored their commitment in word and in deed. Their positive issue oriented campaigns show their strength of character and lend integrity to our party. This year there are more contested primary races in Collin County than ever before. Qualified candidates with issue oriented campaigns strengthen our party and attract new Republicans. The best way to strengthen our party is to vote for an individual that campaigns on their own accomplishments experience and their stand on issues. Because elected officials will always be in the media and under pressure we need people in office who will represent us positively and fairly in the public and the press It saddens me to report that I have received complaints that a few candidates and individuals have not chosen to take the high road outlined by President Reagan. Half truths innuendos and personal attacks hurt our party and damage our public image. These individuals have been reminded that their destructive actions will come back full force against the entire Republican ticket in November. If you receive ads or messages that attack others personally that do not address issues experience or demean our party discard them. You have the power to stop negative campaigning. Contact their campaigns and let them know their actions are unacceptable and misrepresent us as a party or simply use the strength of your vote and do not vote for anyone who campaigns in a way you find offensive. As Chairman I want to personally thank everyone who has given of their fredtime energy and money to help grow our party in this election cycle. We are the party of Lincoln & Reagan; we come together because of our shared values and beliefs. We are growing in volunteers supporters contributors and voting strength because of all that you do. Please keep in mind that Wednesday morning we must all unite behind the elected Republican ticket. Our end goal is to send our best Republican representatives to Austin to Washington and select the best to serve us in Collin County. When we unite on Wednesday we must work together to take back our Country in November and start repairing the change that has damaged us all. Please join us Tuesday night at headquarters for an election night Watch Party. I hope to see you there.
