Former County Republican Party Chair announces bid to represent Liberty San Jacinto & Walker Counties in Texas House

Having lived in District 18 with my family for 23 years serving as the interim County Judge of San Jacinto County
and as County Chairman of the San Jacinto Republican Party I know what it takes to say NO to the bureaucrats in Austin and Washington D.C. we must reduce property taxes end un-fundedmandates
secure our border and protect the rights of Texas citizens" said Van Brookshire officially announcing his
State Representative for District 18 campaign which encompasses Liberty San Jacinto & Walker counties.
Current State Representative and House Appropriations Committee Chair John Otto recently announced his retirement from the legislature.
We need someone to stand up and fight for East Texas families. As a Christian husband father and businessman I know I have the necessary background to be our fighter for East Texas. I want to be your State Representative to bring real rural representation back to the people of District 18" said Brookshire the former San Jacinto County Republican Chairman and interim County Judge of San Jacinto County.
A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Economics Brookshire owns and operates Facilities Services Contractors a small construction company that has served Southeast Texas for over 25 years.

Out of every state in the nation Texas ranks number one with the amount of lawyers we have in our Legislature. We dont need any more rhetoric! To get real results in Austin we need a true conservative who will stand up and fight for East Texas families and businesses in the House of Representatives" Brookshire said.
Van Brookshire and his wife Kristi live on the old family place in Coldspring Texas which was settled by previous generations of their family in the mid-1800s.
His campaign announcement noted he is a strong supporter of 2nd Amendment rights and is a member of the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association. The Brookshire family attends the First United Methodist Church the same church Van and Kristi were married in. Van and Kristi Brookshire have three children Katie Sarah and Joshua.
