21 OF 26 Precinct Chairs 5 of 6 Committee Chairs Endorse Fields for State Rep
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas -- (BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION) - The Jess Fields Campaign announced Tuesday that it had secured endorsements from the vast majority of precinct and committee chairs who make up the Brazos County Republican Party Executive Committee. This builds on the momentum begun with the fundraising quarter ending December 31 when Fields reported over 500 individual contributions from Bryan/College Station over 5 times more local contributions than the incumbent.
The 21 out of 26 precinct chairs and 5 out of 6 committee chairs who endorsed Fields Tuesday represent the vast majority of the Brazos County Republican Party leadership.
Fields has spent thousands of hours volunteering for Republican causes in the Brazos Valley in the last decade. He has served as a precinct chairman the chair of several party committees including the last two Resolutions Committees and as National Delegate in 2012 and Alternate National Delegate in 2008 respectively to the Republican National Convention representing Congressional District 17.
I have known Jess Fields for many years now. He is a man of dedication and integrity. He is intelligent and willing to seek and listen to the council of others said Bill Bingham Precinct 9 Chair and Membership & Outreach Chairman.
Our current representative has explicitly ignored the Republican Executive Committee. These men and women represent their precinct and the voters of Brazos County. He rejected our conservative values and furthered liberal ones.
Bingham continued Jess is a man whose first thoughts on any subject we have discussed has been the preservation of personal liberty. He WILL defend our Constitution and our Liberty! Not just talk about it. Jess Fields has my trust and support.
Brazos County Republican Precinct Committee Chairs thoughts on Fields for State Representative:
Shannon Flanigan Precinct 69 Chair stated:
As a long-time Conservative Republican I am proud to endorse Jess Fields for State Representative. Jess will make a principled stand for Conservative issues and will most importantly do what he says he will do when he gets to Austin. He proved his character and dogged determination in his time on the College Station City Council.
I met Jess years before his time on City Council and was immediately impressed with his intelligence and innovation in starting a small business in College Station while still attending Texas A&M. To defend that business independence he had to run for public office. He will continue to defend our Conservative social and economic values against government intrusion if elected to the Texas Legislature.
Bob Marcotte Precinct 3 Chair said:
I endorse Jess Fields for District 14 State Representative for the following two reasons:
Reason 1. Jesss record. While serving as College Station City Councilman he stayed true to his conservative convictions and campaign promises. He worked with other councilmen when possible but did not sacrifice his basic principles even in the face of criticism. He has also put those principles into action working for a major conservative organization the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
Reason 2. The incumbents record. The incumbent has disregarded the advice of the Brazos County Republican Executive Committee and failed to listen to the concerns of the average citizen of Bryan/College Station while spending time with the big pocket donors of Austin."
Ceci Matthews Precinct 80 Chair said:
Jess is a caring Christian man honest hard-working and experienced with how Texas government works and wants to make sure it works for the people and their families. He is not afraid to stand up for what is right and I trust him to do what his constituents expect him to do.
Mary Sue Ribardo Precinct 78 Chair and Education and Training Committee Chairman said:
I pray that Jess Fields will be elected State Representative. Jess and I are active in the Republican Party of Brazos County. He embodies what I want in a representative. He will be accessible to constituents as he is now during the campaign. He is personally visiting in homes and answering calls to his cell phone.
Jess understands the problems facing active and retired school personnel. He will fight liberal attacks on our pension and work for cost of living raises. He supports conservative education policies and will fight to keep education dollars local.
Jess is a principled man asking for the opportunity to work for us. Vote for him and help me hold him accountable!"
