If House Democrats managed that familys budget they would have added another $38000 to their debt jacking their monthly debt payments to nearly $2300 a month.
If that happened to a real family they would be filing for bankruptcy. If we allow it to stand the nation will be forced to do what is effectively the same on a macro level - radical devaluation of the U.S. dollar.
In the last year before Democrats under Speaker Nancy Pelosi took over the House the annual deficit was $300 billion and falling. By contrast Democrat overspending has resulted in a deficit of $1.4 trillion this year - or $11988 per household of which every dollar is being borrowed.
When the Democrats gained control of Congress in 2007 the nations debt limit was $8.96 trillion. Since then they have upped the debt limit four times to more than $12 trillion this year or more than $100000 per American household not counting any of the future debt we know we will have on Social Security and Medicare.
The Democrats excessive deficit spending has already caused the amount of publicly held debt to increase to 56 of the total U.S. economy as compared to a 36 historical average.
There is a reason the nation is stuck with 10 unemployment this December. Business owners cannot justify investing expanding or hiring new employees when they have legitimate fears for the long-term health of the U.S. economy caused by this irresponsible federal spending.
And what is Washingtons response to that? Speaker Pelosi suggests more federal spending in the form of another so-called stimulus" plan.
