Whats Moving Voters? Sacrifices Previously Made for the Cause of Freedom

width=1372nd in a Series by Texas Author Carol Sewell Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas If we the people are to succeed in taking back the American culture we need to fully understand the two questions that are crucial to achieving that goal and to living a congruent lifestyle.  A congruent lifestyle is where your core beliefs & values are reflected in everything you do.  The questions are: 1.) Who created the earth?" and 2.) What is truth?" The progressive movement in the early 20th century knew that in order to change America into a socialist utopia they first had to undermine the validity of the Bible.  Darwinism was the tool they used to take away absolute belief in the Bible.  Their goal was to place doubt in the minds and hearts of the youth about God as their creator.  If the Creation event in Genesis 1-3 was not true then how could you believe the rest of the Bible. This opened the door for secular humanism. Many of us do question creation because we have been taught evolution as fact and everything that bombards us in the media tells us that evolution is fact.  Every year there are new science reports that purport to have further evidence that evolution is fact when in actuality these studies are not based in sound science.  But if you dare question evolution you are denigrated and considered a nut.  The fact is there are an increasing number of scientists who question the validity of evolution but they are not given the press coverage of the evolutionists.  Many of these scientists also denounce global warming as a width=230fact.  As a result many of them are discriminated against and lose funding of their research projects.  It is simply not politically correct to question either of these two progressive ideas. Next they attacked the very concept of absolute truth.   Teaching students that everything is relative and truth can be whatever you want it to be.  This philosophy undermines the relevancy of the Ten Commandments.  Every worldview hinges on the understanding of moral truth. Postmodernists view truth as relative to the individual and circumstances resulting in self-absorbed attitudes and selfish behavior.  Some have said that we are currently experiencing the first postmodern presidency. To the God fearing citizen and the Founders there are absolute moral truths that should not be violated because to do so attacks the character and purposes of God who is the source and judge of all moral truth.  To live life by adopting Gods truths leads to a life of significance.  It calls those who believe to live for something besides themselves which leads to a greater sense of purpose.  We all need to feel that we have purpose because without a sense of purpose then lifes circumstances will lead to a sense of hopelessness. These two questions are crucial to understanding our society and the political climate currently dominating America.  Once this is clear and we have clarity then it is up to us to set new priorities for our families so we do not fall into the abyss of utopian thinking that we all have to be equal.  How else can we explain this quest for equality" in every area of life. In our hearts do any of us really believe equality will make everything better?  When you look to the nations that have gone down this path you see that yes equality was achieved but at what cost?  They have become nations of equally poor and miserable people looking to government to meet their needs. The Founders belief in equality" was a sound belief in the individual to succeed to the level of their individual talents and work ethic when width=141given equal opportunity.  Equality in and of itself helps no one succeed because policies that promote equality stifle opportunity.  Without opportunity few succeed.  Therefore the Founders believed that the less government involvement in the affairs of man the better the opportunity to build your dream. America has always been known as the land of opportunity" which is why so many people are drawn here from other countries.  The first settlers and explorers came here for the opportunity to worship freely to own land to create businesses and live without discrimination.  The very first explorers were drawn here for the opportunity to explore unknown territory and to spread the gospel.  They believed they were light bearers to the New World.  The light of the gospel was their inspiration to venture into unknown territories.  They were men of vision who had a dream of spreading Christianity throughout the world both known and unknown at that time.  Who were these courageous men and did they succeed?  Christopher (whose name means light bearer") Columbus a devoted Christian was the first to believe there were lands beyond the ocean to be claimed for the cause of Christ.  The Spanish Conquistadors brought Dominican and Franciscan monks and friars as they conquered land for Spain in Central and South America.  These monks were drawn farther and width=92farther north preaching the gospel to the natives and establishing missions in each new area all the way up into what is now New Mexico Arizona and California.  The French sent Jesuit priests to explore along the Canadian border and Louisiana to Florida along the Gulf Of Mexico.  They too established missions as they converted the natives.  Many of these brave men were martyred for the work they were doing.  These were not poor uneducated men who had no opportunities in life.  No they came from wealthy families and were well educated.   They chose to obey God in spreading the gospel. England was the last country to colonize America.  The Pilgrims and Puritans because of persecution from the Church of England were willing to risk everything they had in order to be able to worship freely to own land and to have opportunity to work.  The Pilgrims had little in terms of worldly possessions but they risked their lives for freedom.  The Puritans however were land owners in England and had much to lose.  Therefore it was more difficult for them to make the decision to leave.  When the persecution began to escalate to the point of possible arrest they knew it was time to make the break believing that distance would enable them to create a new colony that would be that City on a Hill.  width=106In all of these instances great sacrifice was made for the cause of freedom.  How can we ignore a sacrifice so great and not be willing to make the minor sacrifices necessary to reclaim Americas rightful place in the world as a bastion of freedom and opportunity?
