White Wont Meet Obama on Texas Visit; But Gov. Perry Will

width=142Texas Insider Report: GRAND PRAIRIE Texas While Democratic nominee Bill White is standing by his decision not to appear with President Obama during a visit to Texas on today  his Republican opponent will. The Democratic gubernatorial nominee attended a healthy family fair in Grand Prairie on Saturday. When asked about not appearing with Obama White said he isnt ignoring the president but rather upholding prior commitments. Im accessible to president at all times talked to the president before and Bush before him. Im not so much on photo ops but I keep to my schedule White said. Im not going to travel from one place to another; what Im doing is meeting the people of Texas. Gov. Rick Perry Whites Republican opponent is taking time to meet with President Obama. He will be at the airport in Austin on Monday. Perry asked for the visit to talk about border security. He said there has been too much focus on illegal immigration and he would rather secure the Texas border. width=126Perry said he has a solution but needs federal resources to make it happen. President Obama will be speaking at the University of Texas in Austin. More than 1000 students waited in line for what they call golden tickets to hear his address. One of the lucky students to get a ticket said he hears it could be standing room only. Another said hell spend the weekend thinking about a good question to ask the chief executive. The president will also be in Dallas to attend a fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
