Did Rep. Stockman’s trip to Egypt include discussions on Benghazi and Malik Obama?
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Rep. Steve Stockman (TX-36) is a long shot to defeat incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). Despite this, the challenger has apparently made at least two trips to Egypt recently, in his capacity as a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, when he might be better served by campaigning.
The Houston Chronicle reported on one such trip Stockman made earlier this month. He canceled a campaign stop in order to do it; a Dallas businessman stood in for Stockman at the last minute. More recently, Stockman joined a delegation of four other congressmen, led by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), who met with the Gen. Abdel Fatah al-Sisi this past weekend.
The delegation promised to relay the “actual picture” of the current situation in Egypt to their colleagues back in Washington, along with declaration of their support of the Egyptian government in its efforts to regain its role in retaining security and rebuilding the country’s institutions.
The meeting included Loretta Sanchez, member of the Armed Services Committee; Paul Cook and Steve Stockman, members of the Foreign Affairs Committee; and Cynthia Lummis, member of the subcommittee on national security.
What few in the U.S. know is that the post-Mohammed Mursi regime in Egypt has taken great interest in Malik Obama, the half-brother of President Barack Obama. In particular, a complaint filed with Egypt’s Attorney General on August 24, 2013 is quite well known in Egypt, though not here. The complaint (No. 1761) was filed by Dr. Sadek Rauf Ebeid, Egyptian physician currently residing in the U.S.
Via Youm7 (translated):
“Dr. Ahmed Nabil Ganzory, in his capacity as lawyer and agent for Dr. Sadik Rauf Ebeid, and resident in the United States of America, filed a complaint with Egypt’s Attorney General Hisham Barakat, against Malik Obama, accusing him of supporting terrorism in Egypt and for his involvement in managing the Islamic Da’wa Organization (IDO). The complaint also asks to include Chancellor Tahani Al-Jebali to substantiate claims against Obama…”
According to an interview with Ebeid on the Lynn Woolley show, that complaint has been escalated to Egypt’s homeland security sector.
Much of the information which served as a basis for the complaint, came from information we posted on Shoebat.com. Photographs show that Malik is in bed with leaders of the Islamic Da’wa Organization (IDO), which is an arm of the Sudanese government, led by Omar al-Bashir. Making this issue potentially much worse is that Lois Lerner’s signature is at the bottom of the 501(c)(3) approval letter for Malik Obama’s Barack H. Obama Foundation (BHOF), named after the President’s father.
Speaking of Lerner, the approval letter makes clear that the foundation’s tax exempt status was backdated 38 months, which is illegal. Would this make Lerner an accessory to terror funding?
As for Reps. Rohrabacher and Lummis, both have introduced the possibility that Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood government under Mursi, may have been involved in the Benghazi attack that resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including a U.S. Ambassador. A very strong case continues to be made in this regard.
Stockman, who sits on the Foreign Affairs committee with Rohrabacher, is likely quite familiar with these explosive developments. Repeated attempts to reach his office have been unsuccessful. At the time of this posting, Stockman’s main D.C. office was not answering calls during business hours and the voicemail box was full and not accepting messages, though a message successfully left earlier still has not been returned.
As an aside, Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA), who sits on the House Ways and Means Committee has referred to the charges against Malik Obama as they relate to his role with the IDO and treatment he received via Lois Lerner as “spot on”.
If Stockman is part of a delegation that’s going to Egypt to investigate these claims, it might be easier to understand why he might prioritize such a trip over campaigning.
That said, it’d also be nice if he explained that to voters.
