“We encourage voters to return Rep. Madden to Austin” White said. “His conservative voting record and history of making responsible votes in the Texas House make him an outstanding public servant.” In the 17th installment of their Legislative Ratings Madden has a career rating of 85.
YCT Senior Vice President Christopher Richey agreed. “Rep. Madden has long stood as a principled leader in the Texas House for conservative and common-sense legislation” Richey said. “Conservatives can be proud of his service.”
Madden was thankful to YCT for their continued recognition and support. “In the legislative process there are times when we have to make tough and controversial decisions” Madden said.
“During such times I have stood strongly for our Republican values and will continue to lead efforts to promote limited government fiscal responsibility and safe and productive communities. I am honored by YCT’s endorsement a group at the forefront of issues for conservatives.”
Jerry Madden was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1992 and is currently chairman of the House Corrections Committee.
In 2007 Texas Monthly named him as one of the “Ten Best” Legislators due in large part to his leadership in criminal justice and his respectful working relationships with members of both parties.
