More than 120000 apprehended so far this fiscal year at least 25000 more likely escaped capture
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Catholic Charities in San Antonio says that more than 1000 illegal immigrants have been dropped off to the San Antonio Greyhound bus station as over-crowded detention centers in south Texas & the Rio Grande Valley started releasing migrants.
And after Border Agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended nearly 1700 illegal immigrants during just one day last week officials reported it to be the largest one-day total since 2014."
In February agents apprehended a total of 25355 migrants including 14448 Family Unit Aliens and 2904 Unaccompanied Alien Children according to the Southwest Border Migration Report.
In addition to the more than 120000 apprehended so far this fiscal year Rio Grande Valley Sector officials estimate that at least 25000 more have likely escaped capture.
They said that if the current rate continues the sector will surpass the number of apprehensions made in 2014.
Some migrants stay in the bus stations through the night until they get a ticket to another part of the county.
And 1000s more are expected.
Smugglers and traffickers have caught on that the outdated laws lack of resources and bad court decisions effectively give them a free ticket into America" said U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Neilsen while testifying to the House Homeland Security Committee recently.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector leads the nation in the apprehension of illegal migrant families and unaccompanied minors.
With the growing surge in immigrants and over-run government facilities unable to handle them non-profits groups like Catholic Charities are left to pick up the pieces in several cities.
This past week has been very long for us. A lot of people crossing the border a lot of people coming to San Antonio said Catholic Charities CEO Antonio Fernandez.
