Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple, Texas on Monday July 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This event will feature keynote speakers, including Texas Land Commissioner and VLB Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., and Tony Dale, Executive Secretary of the VLB. The celebration will commemorate the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home's commitment to serving Veterans in the Temple community. Refreshments and desserts will be served.

The Texas State Veterans Home in Temple is named after William R. (Bill) Courtney who served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. He rose from the rank of Private to First Lieutenant in the 10th Mountain Infantry Division stationed in Italy.
