Army Futures Command CG to Participate in Museum of the Pacific's Memorial Day Ceremony

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas Gen. James E. Rainey, Commanding General, Army Futures Command will provide the keynote address at the Admiral Nimitz Foundation National Museum of the Pacific War Memorial Day Commemoration on May 27, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:35.
 
Memorial Day is when we honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to our Great Nation.
 
“Our Memorial Day commemoration is an important event at this Museum and hundreds of local and regional residents join us every year,” said Gen. Mike Hagee, USMC (Ret,), President and CEO of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation.

“It is our tradition to offer a keynote as the centerpiece of the event, and it is always special to have an Active-Duty individual present to talk about the meaning of Memorial Day, especially someone with General Rainey’s extensive experience and present service as the Commanding General of the Army’s Futures Command.”
 
The National Museum of the Pacific War (NMPW), founded in 1967, is the only institution in the continental United States dedicated exclusively to a mission “to engage and inspire all generations with the story of World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and interpret the continued global relevance of its lessons.” A Smithsonian Affiliate, and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, NMPW welcomes more than 120,000 visitors, including over 20,000 children and students, and reaches thousands more through its virtual learning programs. Spanning six acres in downtown Fredericksburg, Texas, the Museum features three galleries with more than 55,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space, 40 media installations, almost 1000 artifacts, 15 macro-artifacts, hundreds of photographs and thousands of oral histories in its digital archives.
