AirLIFE TEXAS Celebrates New Lockhart Base with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 
 
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – To celebrate the opening of their newest emergency air medical base in Lockhart, AirLIFE TEXAS is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Join guest speakers and area first responders as they welcome the helicopter and crew to the Lockhart community and learn more about the AirLIFE TEXAS ecosystem, which also includes a fixed-wing aircraft available to support patient transports across the entire state.  
 
Immediately following the ribbon cutting, all local police, fire, EMS, dispatchers, court officers, and other emergency personnel are invited are invited to stay for the American Legions’ Cooking for the Caldwell County First Responders luncheon.  
 
AirLIFE TEXAS is part of Air Methods, the leading air medical provider in the United States. Their Bell 407 helicopter functions as a flying ICU, carrying industry-leading clinicians who are trained to provide critical care to patients suffering from trauma due to accidents, cardiac and stroke events, high-risk obstetric emergencies, and more. The crew also carries whole blood and is trained to administer it in flight, bringing hospital-level care directly to the scene.

WHAT:   Media is invited to meet the flight crew, hear special guests share remarks on the lifesaving care this air medical base brings to the region, and get a close-up look at the helicopter used to transport patients to hospitals across the region (Helicopter may be unavailable due to weather or if called into service).
