Attorney General Ken Paxton Names Austin Child Support Employees Assistant Attorneys General of the Year

Andrea Roberts and Clayton Richter named assistant attorneys general of the year Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas   Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has singled out Andrea Andi Roberts and Clayton Richter assistant attorneys general in the Child Support Divisions Austin offices for their commitment to Texas children. Roberts has been named Assistant Attorney General of the Year for the 39-county region based in Austin. Richter was selected Assistant Attorney General of the Year for the divisions main office also in Austin. Both Roberts and Richter received the award Friday at the Statewide Assistant Attorneys General Conference in Houston.

I commend Andi and Clayton for their hard work and dedication to improving the lives of Texas children and families Attorney General Paxton said. Andi and Clayton represent the best and it is attorneys like them that make this agency great. I am thankful to both of them for answering the call to serve the people of Texas.

Roberts is a graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law. She joined the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) in 2008 and represents the State of Texas in paternity cases. She was chosen to be the regions Assistant Attorney General of the Year because of her leadership and internal and external customer service skills. Roberts co-workers seek her guidance on complex legal issues and she consistently maintains a professional demeanor even in tense courtroom situations. Richter is a graduate of the St. Marys University School of Law and joined the OAG in 2015. He was chosen to be the State Offices Assistant Attorney General of the Year after serving through a challenging time for the office. He addressed legislative reporting requirements of Senate Bill 20 transitioning to the new E-Pro electronic purchase order system and helping redesign the contract approval process for the agency. One employee from each of the states nine child support regions and the Austin office are chosen for the Assistant Attorney General of the Year awards. Honorees are selected based on recommendations from their peers and supervisors with a particular focus on employees who go beyond their expected job duties to serve Texas children and families. The Attorney Generals Child Support Division is the most successful and cost-effective program in the nation. The division handles 1.5 million child support cases serving 1.7 million children. The division collects $12.26 for every $1 spent to operate the program and collected $3.8 billion in child support in Federal FY 2015.
