From Congressman Michael McCaul
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas During the first few weeks of the August recess I have been traveling across the district and to the border meeting with constituents police departments and businesses.
My trip to Edinburg and McAllen with Senator John Cornyn to speak with law enforcement agencies about the
POLICE Act active shooter preparedness and discuss the realities at our border with Mexico was informative and resulted in promising discussions. The trip included an active shooter demonstration at an elementary school and a tour of a stash house used for human trafficking. This eye opening demonstration further reinforces the dedication these brave men and women of our law enforcement departments have to keeping our communities safe. We owe a debt of gratitude to them for the hard work and preparation these brave men and women do in order to serve our communities. Click on the first photo below for a clip of my remarks to the press on the legislation and the work police officers do for our communities.
Back home in my district I met with the Texas Association of Broadcasters. The discussion focused on the state of homeland security national security the fight against ISIS and cybersecurity. You can click the picture below to watch a clip of the discussion.
