CONG. BABIN: Since January 23rd, ICE has Arrested 9,000+ Dangerous Offenders & Deportations Are Underway

In just one week, President Trump has made significant strides to secure the border and restore American sovereignty.

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, I had the privilege of joining President Trump and Vice President Vance in Miami, where I’ve been working closely with my House Republican colleagues to lay out a bold blueprint for getting America back on track. The mandate the American people handed us in November is clear: it’s time to reverse the deeply harmful policies of the last four years and restore the values that have made our nation strong.

Promises Made, Promises Kept

In just one week, President Trump has made significant strides to secure the border and restore American sovereignty.

With President Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan leading the way, our nation is in strong hands. Their clear plan targets dangerous illegal aliens, focusing on deporting criminals, terrorists, drug dealers, and human traffickers. America’s safety comes first, and we will not tolerate unvetted illegal aliens in our communities.

Since January 23, ICE has arrested over 9,000 dangerous offenders, with deportations already underway — 97% of which were issued by the Biden administration but never acted upon. These criminals include gang members, fentanyl dealers, rapists, and known terrorists.

Since taking office, President Trump has:
  • Declared a national emergency at the southern border.
  • Deployed additional personnel, including the Armed Forces and National Guard.
  • Restarted border wall construction.
  • Designated international cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
  • Suspended alien entries and required enhanced vetting.
  • Restarted the detention and removal of illegal aliens.
  • Resumed the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
  • Ended programs that conflicted with his immigration agenda.
  • Revoked Biden’s open-border policies and signed a memorandum to detain the most dangerous illegal criminals at Guantanamo Bay.
Finally, a President who is taking action to keep America safe and has our interests at heart!

Legislative Highlights

Panama Canal Repurchase Act of 2025: I have signed on to support a bill to authorize the sale of the Panama Canal to the United States. President Trump has emphasized the critical commercial and security importance of the Panama Canal to our nation.

As a key artery of global trade, the Canal's strategic significance makes it a potential target for exploitation by bad actors, including the People's Republic of China (PRC). Panama's participation in the PRC’s Belt and Road Initiative and the growing presence of PRC-linked companies in and around the Canal pose significant risks to regional security. Protecting this vital infrastructure from falling under adversarial influence is critical to safeguarding America.

  • Make Greenland Great Again Act: I am proud to co-sponsor the Make Greenland Great Again Act, which authorizes President Trump to negotiate with Denmark for the acquisition of Greenland. This bill underscores the strategic importance of Greenland for American national security, and would allow us to grow America, the greatest country in the world!
  • Gulf Of America Act: I am supporting the Gulf of America Act, which aims to codify President Trump’s Executive Order into law and permanently rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. This legislation addresses the important issue of Mexican cartels using the Gulf for trafficking, while our U.S. armed forces protect these waters. It's time the world recognizes it as the Gulf of America!
