Babin: One Month of President Trump

Last week, the Senate confirmed FBI Director Kash Patel, a true warrior who has dedicated his life to protecting America and exposing corruption.

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – It was wonderful to spend last week back home in Texas! I always value the opportunity to connect with constituents and hear what’s on your mind. Meanwhile, the Senate has been at work confirming President Trump’s cabinet nominees at the fastest pace since 2001. Last week, the Senate confirmed FBI Director Kash Patel, a true warrior who has dedicated his life to protecting America and exposing corruption. He will play a key role in ending government overreach and challenging the D.C. status quo. This is great news as we continue our efforts to get America back on track.

President Trump’s First 30 Days
In just one month, President Trump is already delivering on his promise to restore American greatness. He’s taking action to secure our border, drive economic growth, strengthen national security, and put America back on the path to energy dominance. The results speak for themselves. Stay tuned, folks—this is only the beginning!

Here are just a few highlights of the key actions taken to Make America Great Again:

Protecting our communities:
  • President Trump terminated all taxpayer-funded public benefits for illegal aliens.
  • President Trump signed the Laken Riley Act into law, which requires illegal immigrants arrested or charged with theft or violence to be detained — honoring the legacy of Laken Riley, a Georgia college student brutally murdered by an illegal alien released into the country.
  • President Trump ended “catch-and-release,” reversing the dangerous Biden-era policy that released dangerous illegal aliens back into our communities.
  • President Trump shut down the so-called “CBP One” app, which “paroled” more than one million illegal immigrants into the country.
  • President Trump ramped up deportation flights of criminal illegal aliens.
  • Illegal border crossings have hit lows not seen in decades as U.S. Border Patrol is re-empowered to once again enforce the law.
Relief for your pocketbook:
  • President Trump established the National Energy Dominance Council to increase utilization of the U.S.’s extensive energy resources, thereby enabling lower energy prices.
  • Secretary Sean Duffy’s FIRST action at the Department of Transportation was to initiate rulemaking that reset Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards — eliminating the Biden-era electric vehicle mandate.
  • President Trump directed the heads of all executive departments and agencies to “deliver emergency price relief … to the American people and increase the prosperity of the American worker.”
Returning to common sense:
  • President Trump made it the official policy of the U.S. government that there are only two sexes.
  • President Trump banned COVID-19 vaccine mandates at schools that receive federal funding.
  • President Trump directed full enforcement of the Hyde Amendment, which bars taxpayer dollars from being used to fund or promote elective abortion.
President Trump established the White House Faith Office to protect Americans’ religious liberty.

Engaging with Our Community
I had the pleasure of engaging with incredible groups in our district last week. First, I met with leaders from the Pasadena Chamber to discuss the legislative process and provide insights for those looking to deepen their understanding of how our government operates.

I also joined the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Alumni Chapter, where we connected over shared experiences and explored ways to continue supporting the exceptional men and women serving our country through the maritime industry.
