Babin: Treasury Data Shows Republican Tax Cuts Are Delivering for Working Families

Over 5.5 million Trump Accounts have been opened, with 1.4 million eligible for the $1,000 pilot program contribution.

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Treasury Department released a new analysis finding that American families and American workers benefited the most from Republicans’ Working Families Tax Cuts. Republicans wrote this legislation for lower- and middle-class earners, the men and women who get up and start working before the sun rises and go home well after it sets, and this analysis proves those efforts were successful.

Here are the highlights:
  • 96% of filers receiving a tax cut earned less than $200,000.
  • Filers earning between $100,000 to $200,000, who claimed one of President Trump’s signature tax cuts, received an average tax cut of over $1,250.
  • Nearly 70% of filers receiving a tax cut earned less than $100,000.
  • Filers earning between $50,000 and $100,000, who claimed one of President Trump’s signature tax cuts, received an average tax cut of over $815.
  • Over 7.5 million filers have claimed No Tax on Tips, with an average deduction of over $7,000.
  • Over 29 million filers have claimed No Tax on Overtime, with an average deduction of over $3,100.
  • Over 35 million seniors have claimed the Enhanced Deduction for Seniors, with an average deduction of over $7,500.
  • Over 5.5 million Trump Accounts have been opened, with 1.4 million eligible for the $1,000 pilot program contribution.
Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027
Last week, the House passed the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2027. This important legislation reduces discretionary spending by 1.4% below the FY26 enacted level while ensuring critical support for American agriculture, rural communities, food safety, and our nation’s food security.

America’s farmers and ranchers work tirelessly to feed our nation, and they deserve policies that support their success. This bill provides the resources and certainty producers need while making meaningful investments in rural infrastructure, reducing burdensome regulations, and strengthening America’s food supply by reducing our dangerous dependence on China for agricultural imports.

What the bill does:
  • Maintains Fiscal Discipline:  Funds key agriculture and rural development priorities while preserving congressional oversight of taxpayer dollars.
  • Supports American Farmers: Funds farm programs, conservation efforts, agricultural credit programs, and disaster assistance to help producers stay in business and keep food on American tables.
  • Invests in Rural Communities: Supports rural housing, water infrastructure, broadband expansion, and community facilities that help small towns grow and thrive.
  • Strengthens Food Security: Funds food safety inspections, child nutrition programs, and efforts to reduce America’s dependence on China for agricultural imports.
This Week in American History
This week in American history, we commemorate two remarkable achievements that showcase the courage, ingenuity, and determination of the American people.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of American servicemembers stormed the beaches of Normandy during D-Day, helping liberate Europe and secure victory for freedom during World War II. Their sacrifice changed the course of history and demonstrated America's willingness to lead in the face of extraordinary challenges.

Just over two decades later, on June 3, 1965, astronaut Ed White became the first American to walk in space during NASA's Gemini 4 mission. Floating above the Earth, White embodied the same pioneering spirit that has defined our nation since its founding.

Though separated by time and circumstance, both milestones reflect a common American legacy, a nation unafraid to confront the unknown, overcome great challenges, and push the boundaries of what is possible. From Normandy to orbit, these moments remind us that America's greatest achievements have come when brave men and women dared to go where others would not.
