Babin Urges Participation in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 28

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX) today issued a statement encouraging residents of the 36^th District to participate in the Drug Enforcement Agencys (DEA) National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday April 28:

April 28 is the day Americans across the nation will dispose of their old prescription drugs at hundreds of locations across the country. I encourage folks in the 36^thDistrict of Texas to take part in this National Drug Take Back Day" says Babin. The opioid crisis is a public health issue that we can all have a role in addressing. Too many prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands because they are sitting unused or expired in homes across the country. Look in your home medicine cabinets then drop off your old prescriptions next Saturday. It can save lives.

This day provides a safe convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications. Addressing the opioid crisis has become a national priority for the Administration so this is a timely and practical way for local communities to be involved in these efforts. Residents can participate on April 28 from 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. at drop-off locations located all around the 36^th District.
