Cong. Babin Slams Biden’s New Energy Regulations Stopping Alaskan Oil & Gas Production

“Our so-called Commander in Chief has essentially made us powerless against Russian and Saudi production cuts – the consequences of which will be costly to all."

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) issued the following statement regarding the Biden administration’s new regulations to prohibit oil and gas production in Alaska.

“Joe Biden’s war on domestic energy is absurd. He has prohibited oil production and drilling on millions of acres of oil-rich U.S. land while countries like Russia and Saudi Arabia – who seek to disrupt our economy and take advantage when America shows weakness – are deliberately cutting their energy output to hurt us,” said Babin.

“To make matters worse, the president has reduced our Strategic Petroleum Reserve – oil that is supposed to be preserved for national crises – to its lowest level in 40 years.

"If you’re wondering how this makes sense, it doesn’t.

"Biden’s new move is beyond foolish and will continue the surge of gasoline prices, further burdening American families already struggling to afford groceries and pay bills under his failed economy.

“Our so-called Commander in Chief has essentially made us powerless against Russian and Saudi production cuts – the consequences of which will be costly to all," Babin said.

"This president is intentionally risking our national security and forcing you to pay more at the pump because he and his cronies hate oil and gas. It is as simple as that.”
