Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. Following a series of tweets from Kanye West in which the hip-hop mogul said he and President Donald Trump are both dragon energy a new Reuters Poll shows that 22 of black males approve of the presidents job performance.
That represents a significant uptick in support for President Trump among black males up from 11 one week earlier.
West was already in hot water with the Hollywood and liberal left for stepping out the box recently tweeting Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed."
His wife Kim Kardashian West took to Twitter earlier this week to defend her husband against accusations that he had a mental breakdown.
Trumps campaign applauded West for being a free thinker" sending a text message to supporters encouraging them to buy the bright red Make America Great Again" hats.
Group think is a mandate in todays society and when a free thinker like Kanye West speaks truth they attack him. We support Kanye speaking his mind even if sometimes we do not agree on the issues" said the message.Mr. West recently expressed his enthusiastic support for the president in a lengthy series of Twitter posts including a photo of a signed Make America Great Again" hat along with a photo of him wearing the signature Trump campaign accessory.
President Trump also tweeted praise on the rapper last Friday for his great service" to minorities.
Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community - Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades - Legacy Stuff! Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history)" Mr. Trump.
The rapper also posted photos of texts from his friend and fellow musician John Legend who tried to persuade him to reconsider his support of Mr. Trump. West remained adamant in his position.
President Trump in an interview with Fox & Friends" late last week praised West for having good taste" for supporting him saying West had noticed the low unemployment rate for black Americans.
He sees that stuff hes smart and he says You know what Trump is doing a much better job than the Democrats did" Trump said.
Support among black females remained relatively steady over that same span increasing slightly from 6 to 9. 71 of the cohort said they still disapproved of Mr. Trumps overall job performance. The Reuters Poll was taken April 29th 2018.
