Brady: Tepid February Jobs Report Demands Focus on Jobs, Vaccines

“We can get people back to work with pro-growth policies, that create jobs, boost wages, and help families—but Democrats keep saying no. Americans deserve better.”

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – February's tepid jobs report showing little change from the previous month is exactly why we should focus on jobs and vaccine distribution, says Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX), Republican Leader of the House Committee on Ways and Means in a statement.

“Today’s jobs report shows little change from last month. We’re 10 million jobs short of where we need to be, and labor force participation has seen the largest 12-month drop since 1948.

“With hundreds of thousands dead and millions out of work, Democrats are pushing a $1.9 billion political payoff bill that prioritizes a tunnel for Speaker Pelosi over vaccine distribution and job creation.

“We can get people back to work with pro-growth policies, that create jobs, boost wages, and help families—but Democrats keep saying no. Americans deserve better.”

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the unemployment rate in February was little changed at 6.2 percent. The labor market continued to reflect the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
