Brian Babin: Merry Christmas!

Even in uncertain times, the light of Christ shines brightly, bringing peace to our hearts and renewed hope to our nation and the world.

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. –As we celebrate the holiday season, we are reminded of the greatest gift ever given, the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As the Gospel of Luke proclaims, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)

Christmas invites us to pause and reflect on God’s grace, His love, and the promise of hope fulfilled in Bethlehem. Even in uncertain times, the light of Christ shines brightly, bringing peace to our hearts and renewed hope to our nation and the world.

I am deeply grateful for the privilege of serving you and your families. It is an honor to represent a community rooted in faith, family, and love of country. May this Christmas fill your homes with joy and laughter, your hearts with peace, and the year ahead with renewed purpose, hope, and blessings.

From my family to yours, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed and joyful New Year.

Delivering Affordable, Patient-Centered Care
Last week, House Republicans passed H.R. 6703 — the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act. The mission of this bill is clear: lower health care costs for every American, not just the roughly 7 percent enrolled in ACA plans, and certainly not the big insurance companies that have profited most from the failed policies of the past.

This legislation prioritizes patients and working families, reduces insurance premiums, and upholds our pro-life values. Americans deserve a health care system that delivers more access, more choice, and more affordable, high-quality care, not one dominated by bureaucrats and special interests.
Common-sense health care solutions included in this bill:
  • Lowers premiums by roughly 11 percent by strengthening cost-sharing reduction payments.
  • Brings transparency to Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and eliminates hidden costs that drive up prescription drug prices.
  • Expands employer flexibility to customize health care plans that work best for their employees.
  • Protects small businesses from costly regulatory overreach.
Just as importantly, this bill restores and enforces long-standing Hyde protections, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are not used to fund abortions. The so-called Affordable Care Act was written in a way that allowed federal funds to support insurance plans covering elective abortion, despite repeated claims otherwise. This legislation closes that loophole by ensuring cost-sharing reduction payments cannot be used to pay for abortions or abortion coverage.

That’s the principled, pro-family, America First approach Southeast Texans expect, and it’s exactly what House Republicans are delivering.
