I hosted my 11th Annual Congressional Veteran Commendation ceremony to honor outstanding veterans that served our nation honorably and continued their service to our community.
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, I led the call for an Inspector General (IG) to conduct an independent investigation into the handling of disturbing allegations involving Army Major Blaine McGraw. Former Major McGraw was an OB/GYN in the Army who was charged with secretly recording 44 patients during private exams. As a former judge and Co-Chair of the House Army Caucus, I find the allegations against Major McGraw to be an egregious breach of the trust placed in him, and the oversight failures that allowed him to continue practicing are equally alarming.
I led the call, along with Senators Cornyn and Cruz, and Rep. August Pfluger, for an independent IG investigation into the failures that allowed many service members and their family members to be victimized by Major McGraw. I expect this matter to be handled swiftly and with the utmost respect for the survivors, and I will closely monitor the findings to ensure decisive steps are taken to prevent this from happening again.
