Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has implemented new fraud‑prevention tools designed to strengthen financial controls and safeguard taxpayer dollars across statewide payment systems.
To meet modern fraud‑monitoring standards and further secure electronic payments, the Comptroller’s Treasury Operations division has implemented account validation and fraud risk assessment services to strengthen ACH controls across all state agencies.
These services help ensure that direct deposit instructions are accurate and legitimate before taxpayer funds are transferred. By validating account information and assessing fraud risk by using advanced analytics, the Comptroller’s office can reduce erroneous payments and prevent unauthorized transactions.
