Texas Insider Report: (HOUSTON) Congressman Gene Green invites Houston-area students and parents to College and Financial Aid Night on Thursday December 8 2016 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
During this free event students and families will receive information about how to apply financial aid and scholarships. Laptops will be available for attendees to complete and ask questions about their FAFSA/TAFSA applications. This important opportunity comes after the news that this years
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) was made available on October 1st three months earlier than the traditional January 1 date.
Project GRAD Houstons Chandra Gonzalez will give a presentation about financial aid City of Houstons Director of Education Juliet Stipeche will speak on behalf of Mayor Sylvester Turner and representatives from the University of Houston Texas Southern University San Jacinto College and Houston Community College Northeast will be in attendance. Over $2000 in scholarships will be awarded to students during the event.
I want to make sure that students have access to as much financial aid information as possible because financial aid makes the cost of higher education affordable" said Rep. Green.
