One of the most outstanding revelations we found out from Director Comeys most recent appearance before the Judiciary Committee was when he said particularly when we asked about immunity that had been granted for Hillary Clintons top assistants we found out that is was not Comey that made those decisions (on immunity) it was the Attorney General Loretta Lynch herself who made those decisions.
This is the same Attorney General who said that because of a conflict of interest and her association with Bill Clinton that she could not make a decision in regard to going to a Grand Jury and seeking an indictment because of her closeness with Bill Clinton Smith said.
So now we find out that the same person who said she had a conflict of interest was the person deciding to grant immunity to Hillary Clintons top staff. If she had a conflict of interest in one case she had a conflict of interest int the other So once again we now know the Department of Justice the Office of the Attorney General has been politicized which weve never seen I dont think in the history. Now we find out that they have dirty hands said Smith. Im a member and former chairman of the Judiciary Committee and we had the FBIs Director James Comey before us a few weeks ago. And two things. One I gave five examples to him of new information that has come out since the FBI concluded its investigation of Hillary Clinton. Weve had two of the individuals who maintained Hillary Clintons servers appear before Congress and plead the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination and they refused to testify Smith said.
And two weve had another individual as an employee of one of those companies that took a hammer and destroyed two devices clearly tampering and destroying evidence which is a federal violation.
I got into the subject of Hillary Clintons servers because the Science Space & Technology Committee which I chair has jurisdiction over this very little agency called the National Institute of Standards & Technology. And guess what they oversee the standards for official government use of servers and emails.
We want to see if the government standards are being upheld clearly they were not in the case of Hillary Clinton... so as far as Im concerned were going to keep doing what we can to get the facts and the truth to the American people and let them decide whether something illegal unethical or criminal went on said Smith.
The American people need to be aware of the medias bias and not let it influence them. There was a recent poll that showed only 15 of the American people thought the coverage of the presidential race was fair and balanced the lowest I think on record. And the American people by a margin of 2-to-1 thought the media were biased in favor of Hillary Clinton and that was a month ago. Today I think it would be even lower Smith tells Insiders Jim Cardle. I consider the media bias the national liberal media bias to be one of the greatest threats to our country because if the American people dont get the facts if all they can do is get somebodys opinion they cant make good decisions. And if the American people
cant make good decisions we lose our democratic form of government.
The big city papers lean left pretty obviously. But the national media and the big city media are way too biased and you see that in this presidential campaign. They are out to destroy Donald Trump its obvious theyre not hiding it and I think theyre just absolutely shredding their credibility to the extent that in the future whos going to believe the media that they saw to be so biased in the presidential race Smith said.
