Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R Austin) who serves as the vice chairman of the Subcommittee on Monetary Policy and Trade on the House Committee on Financial Services introduced H.R. 4324 the Strengthening Oversight of Irans Access to Finance Act which passed out of the full committee on Tuesday.
The security of our nation is of the utmost importance and I was proud to introduce a bill to increase congressional oversight on aircraft sales authorized by the U.S. Treasury Department to Iran. H.R. 4324 protects the interests of the United States financial institutions.
Furthermore it requires the Treasury Department to submit to Congress a report detailing certifications that must be made under the license agreement and a review of Irans compliance under that agreement every 180 days. This is commonsense legislation that prioritizes American interests and I urge House Leadership to consider this bill on the floor as soon as possible.
