Congressman Babin: Honoring the 81st Anniversary of D-Day

Cutting Wasteful Spending

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, we commemorated the 81st anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave American service members stormed the beaches of Normandy, facing unimaginable danger to liberate Europe from tyranny. Their courage and unwavering sense of duty changed the course of history and secured the blessings of liberty for generations to come.

As Americans, we are forever indebted to the heroes of D-Day and all who have worn the uniform of our Armed Forces. We remember their sacrifice not just with words, but with a renewed commitment to defend the values they fought for—freedom, democracy, and the enduring strength of the United States of America.

Cutting Wasteful Spending
Congress received the rescissions request from the White House, which will claw back $9.4 billion of wasteful spending identified by DOGE. House Republicans are working to pass the DOGE cuts, which include funds to USAID, NPR, and PBS because the American people deserve to have their tax dollars spent efficiently and wisely.

House Republicans also passed H.R. 2931, the SAVE SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act; H.R. 2966, the American Entrepreneurs First Act; and H.R. 2987, the CEASE Act, each codifying executive orders from President Trump. We remain committed to advancing the President’s agenda and putting the American people first.
