Congressman Flores Seeks Nominations for 2018 TX-17 Congressional Veteran Commendation

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Representative Bill Flores (R-Texas) is seeking nominations for the 2018 TX-17 Congressional Veteran Commendation a special tribute to honor the military and community service of local veterans on Veterans Day.

Our congressional district is home to tens of thousands of veterans. In addition to serving our nation many of these veterans also serve our local communities. Their selfless service is admirable and worthy of special recognition and distinction. Honoring deserving veterans with the TX-17 Congressional Veteran Commendation on Veterans Day has become a time-honored tradition" Congressman Flores said.  For the seventh year in a row I am looking forward to reviewing the nominations made by members of our community and recognizing more veterans for their exceptional service. It is important that we take the time to recognize the sacrifices our military men and women have made for our freedom and liberties as well as for our local communities."

The TX-17 Congressional Veteran Commendation was created by Congressman Flores in 2012 to honor and recognize distinguished veterans of the 17th Congressional District of Texas. Nominations for the commendation come from the community. To be eligible for nomination veterans must currently reside in the 17th Congressional District and serve both our nation and our communities honorably during their military and post-military careers. This years recipients will be announced on Veterans Day November 11 2018. Ceremonies to honor the recipients will be announced at a later date.
