Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week marked 100 days of a Republican-controlled House. In just 100 days, Republicans have safeguarded traditional American values, championed pro-growth policies, exercised oversight authorities, and worked to ensure the next generations of Americans inherit the same freedoms and opportunities as we did. And we’re just getting started!
So far, House Republicans have passed legislation to:
- Promote and preserve American energy dominance (H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act)
- Protect hardworking families from an intrusive IRS (Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act)
- Defend life (Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act)
- Nullify DC City Council’s soft-on-crime proposal that would reward lawlessness and endanger our communities (H.J. Res. 26)
- Establish a Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government (H. Res. 12) and a Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the US and the Chinese Communist Party (H. Res. 11)
- Push back on Biden’s woke Department of Labor rule to allow retirement plan fiduciaries to consider Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria (H.J. Res. 30)
- Demand answers on the origins of COVID and the potential links to Wuhan lab (COVID-19 Origin Act)
- Affirm States’ sovereign power to defend their borders (H. Res. 50)
- Call on States to exercise their constitutional right to put a check on unbridled federal spending through an Article V Convention of the States (H. Con. Res. 24)
- Protect a long-standing pro-growth tax provision (ALIGN Act)
- Stop President Biden from imposing an export ban on crude oil (CRUDE Act)
- Name the Ports-to-Plains Corridor “Interstate Route 27,” another step towards ensuring the nation's largest agricultural and energy production centers in West Texas are more accessible to the rest of the country (I-27 Numbering Act of 2023)
- Allow seniors to continue utilizing low-cost, high-quality freestanding emergency centers (Bipartisan Emergency Care Improvement Act)
- Restore law & order and hold rioters accountable (David Dorn Act of 2023 and Patrick Underwood Federal Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2023)
- Help secure funding for the Lubbock Veterans Cemetery to honor those willing to sacrifice life and limb to defend our nation
- Protect community banks from bearing the brunt of poorly-managed banks and regulatory failures.
And we’re just getting started!
