Congressman Tony Gonzales Joins House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy For Immigration Roundtable

"When this Administration encourages blanket amnesty, this is what it encourages.”

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) on Thursday joined House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, their House colleagues, and guests, including Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin, for an immigration roundtable. The discussion focused on the border crisis, the dangerous trek made by migrants, and the consequences of reforming our immigration system through a one-sided, partisan process.

Members of the roundtable also included Representatives John Katko (NY-24), Jim Jordan (OH-04), Kat Cammack (FL-03), John Rutherford (FL-04), Troy Nehls (TX-22) and guests National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd and Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels from Arizona.

“Last week, there was a family traveling through Eagle Pass on a train – a male, female and their daughter. They were jumping off a train and what happens? The husband loses his arm, the wife loses her foot and the one year-old baby girl loses parts of her hand,” said Congressman Gonzales. “These are the stories that don’t make it out. When this Administration encourages blanket amnesty, this is what it encourages.”
