Congressmen Jodey Arrington, Michael Cloud, Ronny Jackson and August Pfluger join Congressman Gonzales as co-chairs. Task Force members include Representatives Michael Burgess, Louie Gohmert, Chip Roy, Pete Sessions, Roger Williams, and Beth Van Duyne.

“Texas’ farmers, ranchers and producers feed and clothe families across the nation,”
said Congressman Gonzales. “A booming agricultural industry is critical to the success of our state and I will always be a tireless advocate for our farmers in Congress.”

The Texas Ag Task Force will promote and champion federal policies that strengthen Texas agriculture and rural communities, engage producer groups and other key stakeholders in the state, develop pro-agriculture strategies in trade, taxation, rural development, environmental regulation, rural broadband and the 2023 Farm Bill, advocate to the USDA, EPA and other agencies within the Biden Administration, and work closely with other members of Congress and the top Republican of the House Agriculture Committee Rep. G.T. Thompson.

Ranking Member Thompson welcomed the united Texas effort in agriculture, saying, “Texas is the epicenter of production agriculture and is essential to our nation’s food security. The Texas Ag Task Force will be an important part of staying close to Texas producers as we craft the next Farm Bill and advance policies that strengthen American agriculture and rural America.”
