Cong. Granger: After Biden's Driven Energy Prices to Highest Level in Decades, House Passes 'Lower Energy Costs Act'

House Republicans are ending President Biden’s war on American energy.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Texas Insider Report) — Since his first day in office, President Biden pulled the rug out from under our oil and gas producers and focused overwhelmingly on climate initiatives – which have driven energy costs to their highest levels in decades and increased our dependence on China for critical minerals.

The push for Green New Deal initiatives, which are neither realistic nor affordable, has increased prices at the gas pump and at the grocery store because of high transportation costs.

That is why I am proud to support H.R. 1, the "Lower Energy Costs Act," and pleased to see it pass in the House of Representatives.

This legislation restores American energy independence by increasing domestic energy production, lifting regulatory burdens, and eliminating our reliance on hostile foreign nations for our energy needs.

H.R. 1 will unleash the full power of American energy, which will in turn grow our economy and put Americans back to work.

Texans and all Americans deserve affordable and reliable energy.  In our great state of Texas, we produce the best of both worlds: renewable fuels and traditional oil and gas products.

As they say, everything is bigger and better in Texas. Our state leads the nation in energy production, claiming the top spots in crude oil and natural gas production and wind-powered electricity generation.

Our state’s economy has benefited greatly from an “all-of-the-above” energy approach, and when we implement a similar approach throughout the nation, we will increase access to the cleanest and safest energy in the world.

H.R. 1 will improve our country’s national security by ending our reliance on energy sources controlled by hostile foreign nations.  Our country has an ample supply of natural resources and critical minerals.

It’s time we use what we’ve been blessed with, and curb our reliance on countries like Venezuela for our oil and China for our critical minerals.

The Lower Energy Costs Act will also cut permitting delays and make our energy industry more competitive and more prosperous, leading to lower costs at the pump and the grocery store.

I encourage my colleagues in the Senate to also pass this important legislation and for President Biden to sign it into law.

It’s past time we return to energy independence. H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, does just that.
