Cornyn Announces National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez as State of the Union Guest

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas (DALLAS) U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Border Security and Immigration, today announced National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) President Paul Perez as his guest for President Donald J. Trump’s State of the Union address to Congress next week:

“As president of the National Border Patrol Council, Paul Perez plays an integral role in advocating for the policies needed to ensure the border is secure and our brave Border Patrol officers have the resources necessary to enforce federal immigration law,” said Sen. Cornyn. “I’m proud to welcome him to President Trump’s State of the Union address next week as my guest and look forward to continuing our work together to bolster border security, counter the disgraceful demonization of law enforcement by the Left, and keep Americans safe.”

Background:
Senator Cornyn, Mr. Perez, and the NBPC have worked hand-in-glove to deliver historic border security measures. With input from the NBPC, Senator Cornyn helped pass the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which included billions in federal funding for immigration enforcement, secured reimbursement for the State of Texas for costs associated with Governor Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, Texas’ border security mission launched due to President Biden’s dereliction of duty at our southern border, and worked together to help President Trump enact his America First agenda during his first year in office.

The State of the Union address will take place on Feb. 24.
