CORNYN: Funding for Zika Prevention Texas Veterans Finally Passed

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON  U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released this statement following Senate passage of legislation that responsibly funds the government including $1.1 billion in funding for states like Texas to help guard against the spread of the Zika virus:
While long overdue Im glad public health officials and local leaders in Texas will finally get the additional resources they need to help protect our state against the Zika virus" said Sen. Cornyn. Not only does this legislation provide much-needed funding to fight Zika it also ensures we continue support for our veterans and makes disaster relief available for flood-ravaged states like Texas."
Todays vote comes after Senate Democrats repeatedly blocked anti-Zika funding over the summer. Senator John Cornyn a Republican from Texas is a member of the Senate Judiciary and Finance Committees.
