Cornyn Hosts Hurricane Harvey Recovery Roundtable Friday in Houston

Nearly $5 billion announced for Texas Flood Control Projects Texas Insider Report: HOUSTON Texas Following the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announcement of nearly $5 billion for Flood Control Projects in Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn will host a roundtable with local leaders and representatives from USACE to discuss the specifics of the $295 million Clear Creek flood control project and $186 million for other critical projects in Harris County. The nearly $5 billion in funds that was announced by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will go towards Texas Flood Control Projects appropriated by Congress through a disaster supplemental package in the Bipartisan Budget Act earlier this year. width=156 USACE has also announced nearly $16 million of these funds will go toward several studies in Texas for projects that would help protect the state against future natural disasters. Following the roundtable Cornyn and Congressmen John Culberson (TX-7) and Pete Olson (TX-22) will tour Thompson Intermediate School which flooded with more than five feet of water during Hurricane Harvey and has undergone major renovations and repairs width=119since the storm.
